A few years ago I served at a local seafood restaurant that had been around for years.
My father actually went to this place when he was a kid.
The owner was in his sixties and he built this ridiculously successful restaurant from the ground up.
In fact, before I started working there, it was my favorite restaurant on the planet.
I swear, you won’t find better seafood anywhere, even on the coast, than you’ll find at this hole in the wall in the center of Georgia.
I know that’s hard to believe, but I swear it’s true.
The blackened crawfish are unreal.
Anyways, I learned so much working at this place.
Not only about how to be a better server, but about what servers go through.
I quickly realized servers work insanely hard and deal with lots of struggles you’d never see until you serve.
You work in rough conditions.
That’s something people often don’t think about but I remember constantly getting burned by hot soup, hot plates, and especially the broiler.
I’d also go home covered in bartar all the time.
And the rough conditions are just one of the tough parts of being a server.
I haven’t even mentioned the customers, crazy coworkers, double shifts, aching body, late shifts, early shifts, and the list goes on.
But, I’m not interested in stoking the fire of hate you have for your job.
In fact, that is the exact problem that Server Plus is aimed at fixing.
After working in that restaurant and seeing the struggles of serving, seeing my coworkers come in everyday with their head hanging, dreading the 6 hours they were about to endure…
...I decided servers needed a company like Server Plus, a company founded just for servers.
So, Server Plus was started and our mission is to make your job easier.
We want servers going into work with a smile on their face.
You spend one third of your life at work, on average.
You shouldn’t hate it.
And you don’t have to.
That's our mission.
